Ardeshir Tabrizi

Ardeshir Tabrizi (b. 1981, Tehran, Iran) lives and works in Los Angeles, CA. His hand-embroidered textile works and multilayered narratives use thread and ink to explore cultural renewal and the ways we understand heritage today. Drawing from his background, Tabrizi creates work that resonates beyond specific cultural references, exploring questions of identity, belonging, and memory.

In this exhibition, his work continues to explore the body, life, and death, blending personal experience with motifs from Persian and Indian miniatures. Through layered compositions, central figures, and symbolic imagery, Tabrizi considers the individual in society, the passage of time, and the influence of history, culture, and family. The paintings invite reflection on both intimate and universal experiences, offering a meditation on presence, change, and continuity.
