Golnaz Payani
Golnaz Payani, born in Tehran in 1986, is an Iranian artist whose practice moves between textile, drawing, and installation. Her work often begins with embroidery and layered surfaces, exploring memory, fragility, and the emotional traces carried by materials. Based between France and the Middle East, she has exhibited widely in Paris, Los Angeles, Marrakech, and beyond, including solo exhibitions at Praz-Delavallade Gallery and the Alexandra David Neel Museum.
Payani’s works feel intimate yet architectural. She builds quiet spaces that invite viewers to slow down and look closely, where threads, lines, and textures hold stories of displacement, belonging, and personal history. Through a delicate but deliberate language of materials, she transforms surfaces into landscapes of memory.
